One of my favorite professors in grad school used to tell us that all of our ideas were brilliant and could be turned into a journal article. "Anything--research, teaching, service--can be a journal article," she would assure us.
After having read two weakass journal article submissions, let me clarify:
Only good ideas
that contribute
something new to the literature
and that are written well and thoughtfully
can and should be journal articles.
That is all.
