I'v...I think this is an excellent post, Lesboprof. I've got to say, I've not ever done more than three conferences in a year, and even that can feel like a lot, depending on the timing of conferences. Also, at a certain point, if one is doing 1-2 conferences every year, they stop showing anything except for one's continued and consistent professional participation in the field.
